Today Dale has decided he doesn't like the house!
We were sitting chatting while he played with his rope toy when he suddenly yelped and jumped as if he'd hurt himself. I had a look ,nothing to see and nothing obvious that could have hurt him. Mike thinks he bit himself.
Next he asked out and then wouldn't come in. We left him for an hour or so before going out and coaxing him in with chicken. But the only place he wants to be is lying against the back door waiting for it to open and runs to his crate if we try to move him.
I've managed to get him back in the living room by adding a bit of our steak pie , carrots and beans to his tea and only letting him eat in the room. Bribery I know. But he's got to stop this before it becomes a habit.
Has anyone else met this problem?

Oh poor Dale. He's really spooked himself, hasn't he?

I haven't come across anything like this, Janice, but I guess you just have to ignore it and see how he does, poor love.

I think that Dale gets bored so comes up with ever more elaborate plans to make you worry Janice Laughing Laughing

He is highly intelligent and knows how to get your attention

Don't fall into the trap of pandering to him.......Is the garden secure? If so leave him.......he will get bored and hungry and will come in..........continue with thing as normal.........you must appear to be in control ......even if inside you don't feel it!

Umm Since we swapped the car for one he likes, maybe he's starting a secret campaign to get us to move house Shocked

Janice,

How strange, i've never heard of anything like this before - maybe it's a Collie thing as they seems to come up with some strange ideas, or perhaps it's just a Dale thing! Rolling Eyes Laughing

Laughing Dale's been coaxed back into the room, thank goodness.
Not all collies are so temperamental but life's never dull with them:lol:
