Big business!.....you can get all you need here for free!

I bet that the local vets really might not like me?

I did a lot of research into this and couldn't come up with a single reason NOT to have Otto neutered as we have no intention of showing or breeding him.

Our vet didn't even question it.

My understanding is it just gets rid of urges which can (and not in all dogs) calm them down and prevents them from scaling fences/being distracted by the ladies.

But I was never under the illusion that it meant you then abandon the pack/training - they don't suddenly become angels. Our dog jumps up when he's excited, we just ignore him and he calms down immediately as he no longer gets a response.

And as Cesar says, they do react to your energy. Otto was being excitable, but he was picking up on us...we have made big efforts to remain calm assertive and have noticed a difference. Even helps at work haha!

Oh and the boy is fine. He wouldn't fit in his crate with the collar on, so we had him in with us.

Didn't like not being in his crate - not the routine. But he's getting used to the collar so will hopefully settle better tonight.

Very sleepy last night, but fine today. The problem will be keeping him in for five days, bar a wee wander out the back.

John, She referred me to a particular psych. Shirley Seaman at Edinburgh Uni. Total costs £350.

Allison

it may depend on how your vet has interpreted what you have ask her

neutering will not cure any behavioural issues if your dog is displaying any, only getting to the root of the problem and addressing it will do that

good luck

Suzanne

pleased to hear Otto is doing well..............he won't even miss them and will recover in no time Smile

Glad Otto is doing well. He seems to be growing up so fast now.

Well I haver on about him enough, you must feel like you know him even though only a few of you have met him.

He's coming to training classes...but vet advised not this Sunday.

We can meet more of you in person. Laughing
