3 weeks ago we noticed that Towsie, our old girl (12 and a half years) wasn't quite herself. On closer inspection I found her lymph glands in throat and shoulders to be quite swollen, so got her to the vet who found she also had a high temperature. A 10 day course of strong antibiotics was prescribed and we where to take her back towards the end of the course.

The rest of that week she was really bad. We struggled to get her to eat anything, she had no energy, at 1 point I thought she was just going to lie down and not get up again.

Then she started to regain some of her strength, and started to eat little bits of food. Over the day we would get her to eat about 2 thirds of her normal amount. She started to want to go out again, so we would drive her to Cumbernauld Park to get her a wee wander around. She was starting to look brighter in the eyes again. Smile

We took her back to the vets when the antibiotics where finished. The swelling had went down a bit. The vet wasnt happy though as it should have been normal. She still had a temp as well. Blood tests where done and samples syringed from her glands. The samples had abnormal cells in them and had to be sent away for proper analysis.

We took her home and through the rest of the week she got brighter and brighter. She started eating better and better, although not as well as normal. Her glands where still slightly swollen, but she looked bright enough.

We finally got the results of the samples back from the patholigist yesterday.

Cancer! Sad

She is still bright enough, and happy, although still doesnt have a fantastic appetite, and still a lack of her normal energy. We have an appointment with vet on Tuesday to discuss options.

The outlook is all of a sudden not so rosy.

Absolutely gutted!!!!

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts.

She is still with us yet, we'll just need to make the most of it, and spoil her rotten.
