Any large pet shop will have them or check ebay, they are not expensive.......lightweight cotton is ideal.Sometimes they are called training leads.
Personally I use the 20ft (5m) length and find it long enough but easy to handle. _________________ John Thomson

The loop can catch if the dog is dragging it behind them outside....you can always tie a loop in it when needed. _________________ John Thomson

not for using with Kiera, more looking for the new addition as she wont be allowed off lead. I dont like the idea of putting a husky on one of those flexi leads recipe for disaster. |

It is a shame that people don't get Huskies off leash early..........Koda is proof that they can have a good recall if you start early enough....these are dogs that are meant to run. _________________ John Thomson

if the issue off the lead is sheep worrying then surely if there are no sheep about it shouldn't be too much of a problem???? if it's the one that was on the re-homing section on the forum the girl did say she let it off lead. |

well should things go well and I get my hands on her we can see her true colours, Louise says her recall was really good and she has the potential for agility, she was really calm when we met her and has shown signs of being submissive in a pack at Kirsty's but you can never know until you actually live and train with your dog. |

hiya, Koda is terrible off lead when it comes to sheep but he is not bad when he has no distractions(ie female dogs infact any dog:) ), hot dogs work for him:) lol , all i have to do is try suss out the situation and keep an eye out for anything coming and i can let him off, he is getting cheekier so we bought a long line to work on his recall again but i like to let him off when i can, its about 50/50 with him at the moment. I think people scare you into letting them off and im sure with some of them you cant, but i think if you do your best to monitor your surroundings and suss out if there is any sheep or deer in Koda's case and there are no roads i try to let him off but every husky(and dog) is different and i guess you are never 100 percent certain,
we got a 10m one from acorn is bishopbriggs, it is a bit long, but does the job at the moment, we have a flexi line for Koda, He does not bad on it, like to give him a bit of freedom when walking as i walk to slow for him he is always moaning when i fall to the back of the group |
