she did this with Lynn's budgie!!!!!!!!!!

She is not a vet I would recommend.....you can ask for a specific vet at any prectice!

ah the australian guy is the lizard expert Smile we had mrs lawrie, she was not bad with pauls cat, infact was really good with her, and when we got Koda checked over, she was really thorough with him, but i agree there is something about her that doenst make you feel conifident in her. Maybe small animals are not her thing and she is better at livestock? my old vet used to be like that, he did the small animal practice to make a living, but he would feel more confident dealing with farm animals.

I hope he feels better soon, looks painful Crying or Very sad

Ian Shilliday is the Aussie vet. Graeme Leathers is Irish. They are both excellent. So are Mr Orsi and the American one - Mr Mendes I think.

I refuse to see Mrs Lawrie, have done for years now. The woman is incompetent.

oh that looks sore change his bedding and rinse it all through with no detergent, Dora is allergic to the plug in air freshners from Ambi Pur and gets hives all over her the vets told me that you can give the dog piriton, cool water or an ice pack will help stop an swelling and sooth sore areas like Linsey said and defo get to the vets if it's no better tomorrow but get another vet as she seems like she's not much cop.
finger s crossed for you all Lindy

I agree with everyone else , take him back to any of the others in the practice (my own preference is Graham Leathers, than Mike Orsi, then Brian Mendes , then Sarah Bell I think her name is , then Mr Lawrie then bottom equal are Ian Shilliday and Mrs Lawrie . (Can you tell I've had just a little experience of them all?) Anyway apart from Piriton the other thing I would suggest to calm it down would be Calendula (marigold) cream which I found really useful when my dog's skin kept breaking out in itchy eczema, it just calms and cools it and you can get it it most chemists and Boots do their own brand.
Just in case it's relevant , the Falkirk practice are also open on a Saturday from a later start to a later finish, it might give you more options of vet to get the one you want. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Graeme, please let us know how he is and if any of the advice helped. I have nothing to add to the advice already given. I just hope some of it works for the poor boy.
I also won't see Mrs Lawrie. She is actually scared of every one of the rescue danes I have taken in. Even when I took Poppy in at first just to weigh her, when she was so skinny she was 1/4 of her weight, Mrs Lawrie backed into her wee room when the receptionists came over to see the dog.

Ask for any other vet but not Mrs Lawrie. The woman needs to be avoided. She is even scared of my little runt budgie (its about the size of a sparrow) and she know Sweet F A about dogs. Sorry but I have had a few run in with her and she has also just infected my niece's cats good ear by using the dirty cotton bud from the infected ear to check the good ear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope Jack will be okay let us all know
