Only 4 weeks on Tuesday before we start training again...........in our new MUCH bigger hall.
and I have heard on the grapevine that a few old hands will be coming back to classes!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to it now....what night would be best to switch the Tuesday night walk to? Monday....Wednesday?
Let me know your thoughts.

Oh and I got my agility equipment book so I will need to get started Laughing Laughing Laughing

Good luck with your home-made agility equipment! Smile Remember though, when you're making the jumps etc, that there are certain height measurements for the three different heights. That only matters if any of you intend to compete eventually.

Nicola,
the book I got is 'Do It Yourself Agility Equipment' by Jim Hutchins......seem to be geared for US rules but hopefully it will give us a start..........I don't think we will get serious but you never know.........most seem keen to at least have a try.

Agility is great fun! Very Happy

I started purely just for the fun aspect, and of course, to keep my dogs fit (and myself, to an extent! Laughing However, when my Westie reached a good enough standard, I caught the bug and want to compete. The only reason I want to compete is to show people what wee dogs are capable of, especially Westies, with a bit of training and hard work. Of course it would be nice to get placed aswell!

Nicola, i was a bit like that when I wanted to do obedience training with a lurcher, I was on a waiting list for 2yrs for our local club and im sure I kept getting 'missed' due to the fact of having a lurcher and I know the guy that ran it thought they were useless.
Im glad though as now I am part of a better more friendlier club, its all fun and when we dont get to crufts its not the end of the world Very Happy

Excellent, Shirley. It's worked out well for you then. Smile

When we went to get the dogs measured a couple of weeks ago, both the dogs and I were itching to have a go! Laughing

As long as you enjoy doing the obedience with them, and they enjoy it, then no, it doesn't matter if you never get to Crufts! Enjoying it is by far the main thing. Very Happy

didn't know that Shirley, I don't care what type of dog anyone has.........if it is and obedient dog or not....if the handler is keen to learn at whatever level ............then I am happy if I can help out. i know my dogs are never going to be 'good' never mind 'great' but they are mine and for me that's all that counts.......there is too much snobbery ( is that a word?) in the dog world for my liking.
Lets just enjoy having a dog and helping it improve at whatever level

Yes, John, it is a word.

Well said! Very Happy

In my opinion, it's the Kennel Club who create the snobbery, if I didn't have to register my dogs to compete in agility, I wouldn't.

Not a registered breed .....because cross breeds compete at Crufts in agility.

Probably a Monday for me but I could just as easily make a Wednesday. Bring my granddaughter along to build her confidence with bigger dogs possibly.

Can't wait for the classes though. Very Happy
