Hi All,

I hope you had a great Christmas and that the New Year brings you everything you could wish for.

As some of you may have already heard through the grapevine, I am standing down as trainer after 18 months at Cumbernauld Dog Training Club. The Club will continue as before however as far as I know a new trainer has not yet been appointed by the committee. I have agreed to continue until the end of January if needed.

www.cumbernaulddogtraing.co.uk and its web forum are owned and run by Marcella and myself so shall continue with very little change. Membership of the forum will remain free however viewing of certain sections will be restricted.

As from 03/02/08 I shall be starting Cumbernauld Dog Training School to allow me to continue to help people train their dogs, as you know this is something that I am passionate about.

There will be some changes made compared to the way Cumbernauld Dog Club ran, the biggest difference will be class size. This will be strictly limited to 12 dogs/handlers per class, which will remain 30 minutes long. This will allow me more time to interact with each dog/handler combination and each dog will spend more time training rather than watching. It will give more scope for off leash work and for the more advanced classes we will introduce a little agility work . I will run 8 week long induction classes for new/young dogs and handlers which will run through the basics of owning and training a dog.

Classes will run on Sunday afternoons, in Westfield Hall. If you are at all interested or have any questions please email me or call on 01236 455555, as class sizes are a maximum of 12 dogs, places will be limited.

Fees for Cumbernauld Dog Training School will be £16.00 per dog per month, payable on the first Sunday of every 4 week block.
For any handler with more than one dog, the second dog rate will be £6.00. There is no annual fee on top of this.
These fees reflect the increased costs of weekend training and reduced class sizes.

Our organised group walks are pretty unique and have become a victim of their own success with numbers growing as quickly as our reputation for being a happy friendly bunch spreads.. As from January our group walks and the walk section on the forum will ONLY be available to people/dogs who attend Sunday classes. As with the smaller class sizes this will keep dog numbers down and containable hence the walks will more enjoyable and beneficial for those who participate.
The discounted pet food account is held by me and forthwith access to ordering discounted pet food will be restricted to fee paying members of Cumbernauld Dog Training School.

Kind regards

John

I just wanted to say thank you for all the nice walks we where able to participate in the past. It was a nice time and we felt very welcomed by the Scottish locals.

Cos we won´t be members of the Cumbernauld dog training school and this forum will not longer be that open to everyone it used to be, I decided to say
it was a pleasure to get you all to know!

Goodbye wave

Sad Phoebe the forum will always remain here for everyone! Only a very small part of it will be restricted. We would all miss you and Marco if you disappeared! Sad

Arlene, Cumbernauld Dog Training CLUB is continuing on a tuesday. John is just no longer going to be trainer there.
He is starting new classes on a Sunday himself as Cumbernauld Dog Training SCHOOL.
2 different classes altogether.

Would still be nice if there was a 'casual walks' section too, so people can still arrange to meet at the Glen etc like they have been doing. I always thought that was nice to see, and was planning on joining folks soon! Sad
