hey there, sorry you never even know forums exist till theres a problem

my name is sam and i have a jack Russell'babs' for eight years and a yorkie pup 'betty' had for 5 weeks

the problem is she had her 2nd jag from Lawrie vet practice a couple mondays ago and took her for her last walk last monday

didnt go to well and she jumped about a lot and came home she was coughing up and really ill, took her to vet and shes been there ever since, tbh people i am just a bit scared just now as i am sooo attached to tis wee pup and i wanted to know if everyone ok wi the vets

i kinda lost the rag a little when i called today as in the discussion i was advised they were thinking of putting her down yesterday, we were told she was getting better then she wasnt

the problem is i dont think she will make it through and sure she is under more stress getting pumped full of drugs and well has anyone used the australian chap from that vets in cumbernauld

just looking for re-assurance that i am wrong and he is right

thanks and sorry for long post Embarassed

So sorry to hear this Sam,

Have they given any explanation as to what is happening or what they believe they are treating?

Personally I use Lawries as do many on this forum.........there are also those who for various reason choose not to............

they say they cant get a tube down her or xray her properly incase the jag kills her

all they say is they are keeping her on oxygen and then a drip, then i get told she was up wagging tail eating and doing toilet still breathing problems

see i want to take the dog home as i am off the now so i can give her constant supervision and my time as all i do is not sleep and worry just now

never needed to use a vet before now as babs never had any problems that wasnt solved wi tlc

Sorry to hear this Sam, let us know how it's going. You could always ask to speak to a different vet I know Mrs Lawrie likes to deal with smaller dogs! Take care

Sorry you have a problem. We use Lawrie vets but refuse to have Mrs Lawrie anywhere near our dogs. We have Great Danes and Mrs Lawrie is scared of them although they are big whooses.
As John says there are a few members who have no confidence in this practice.
I hope your wee one gets better soon.

oh sam i am so so sorry for your loss!!!!!!!!..................it makes no difference whether you have a pup/dog in your life for 5 minutes five weeks or five years..............they become so much part of your family!

i know what yo mean about the numbness..........the world almost stands still for you and it turns for everyone else!..............i have 3 cockapoos with my daughter and my youngest is 15 weeks today and i cannot contemplate not having her here!...........we use the vet in condorrat and have no experience with lawries but i am sure they did what they could!

hard as it maybe betty is in a better place that here on earth suffering!..........god bless!

please continue to post on this forum and let us know how you're doing!
