Bubbles was spayed in Dec 07 which was approx 3 months after being in season for the first time. What is worrying me is that for the last couple of night she has been cleaning that area a lot more than usual in fact I have not noticed her doing this since she was last in season (7months ago)
I at first wondered if it was her glands but there is no untoward smell as previously mentioned by other people when they had to deal with this.
Do dogs get the systems of being in season even if they can`t physically do anything!!!!!!!!!!!1 _________________ My life belongs to a Collie |

I vaguely remember Mishka doing something strange after she had been dressed. We too thought it looked as though she was going into season.
Could be nothing or as simple as a urine infection or blocked glands. OR she might just like to lick !!
Let us know what happens |

Lynn I really don't think it is anything to worry about she has been spayed and therfore can't go into season again, if her glands need done she will drag her bottom on the floor and if she has a urinary infection you will soon know as she will go off colour |

Hi
I have an appointment with the vet at 2.10pm as she is now showing a little blood. They say there is a possibility that part of an ovary has been left and she may need an operation. I am furious. I don`t want her to have to go through that again.
I`ve also been in touch with the insurance company and if she does need an op she is not covered as it is related to spaying. _________________ My life belongs to a Collie |

Now hold on.... are they wanting you to pay again if she needs to get an operation to carry out what should have already been done?? Surely thats not right???!!!! Surely you shouldnt have to pay again - they never done their job right????
Hope you and Bubs are ok... keep us up to date! HUGS!!!! _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.

Depending on your insurance policy, routine spaying is not covered and therefore complications from it will likewise not be covered, but I agree with Ashley that if this is a result of the first op not being carried out correctly then the vets themselves should not be seeking payment from Lynn.
I hope all goes well with Bubbles and she is soon back to normal!! |

i agree with ashley if the job had been done properly then you wouldn't be going through this!!!!! so why do you have to pay for another op!

oh god Lynn so sorry I said you had nothing to worry about
AS for having to pay for another op to correct the poor job they have done in the first place NO CHANCE you paid for her to by spayed and they have not done the procedure to standard and therefore are obliged to fix it. DO NOT TAKE ANY BULL from the vets about paying for this it's there responosibilty to fix it free of charge, I'm sure trading standards would agree as would whoever licesnes vet practices. |

So sorry to hear this Lynn..........get Bubbles back to health........that has to be the number one priority.
......... then if the vets insist you pay......take them to the small debt court and threaten to out them in the local paper and on this forum
This may also explain her erratic behavior of late??????????? _________________ John Thomson

Well we`ve been to the vets and saw a young girl (not the dreaded Mrs Lawrie) The girl did a few checks and said that her glands were quite full and hard. She emptied them and also checked the vuvla. It is enlarged and sore but this may be due to an infection caused by the glands, so long story short Bubbles has yet another course of antibiotics and painkillers/ anti inflammatory. the vet said it may have been caused by the lack of roughage. This ties up as the little madam had stopped eatting her mixer. So she is back on the mixer.
